Try these steps –
Step 1
Run Network commands –
1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes.
2) At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
Step 2
Re-install the Network Adapter –
1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2) In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name.’
3) Right-click on the network adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.

My WiFi signal was down to less than 1mps, although my phone in the same location had the full mps provided by my provider, and this change occurred just recently. None of the diagnostic apps could find anything wrong. This process worked great, back to full service. However, if I could not have plugged my laptop directly into a modem I would not have been able to download the driver. Also, I was somewhat confused as to which of the 14 available drivers to download, but if I was able to figure it out I think most people could also--just check that the full driver name/description matches what you uninstalled. Thanks so much for posting this process.
