Micromax Canvas Selfie A255

Micromax launched a new smartphone in India that is Micromax Canvas Selfie. The Micromax Canvas Selfie A255 is a smartphone from selfie lovers.

It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat is own user interface developed by Micromax mobile for their canvas series of Android smartphones. Most selfie smartphones in India only focus on adding more megapixels to the front camera along with a Flash but Micromax has paid attention to the entire device and has come up with a stunning design.

The Micromax Canvas Selfie has a 13-megapixel front camera with flash and an app that is embellished with a ton of beautification features. The Canvas Selfie is by far Micromax’s most unique design yet and probably its best one too.

Micromax Canvas Selfie has 13-megapixel rear and front camera Sony sensors accompanied by an LED flash. The phone has a 4.7-inch HD IPS display and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It comes with an internal memory of 16 GB and is expandable with microSD up to a whopping 32 GB.

The phone is available in the colors of Mystic Blue and Angelic White. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and has a 2,300 mAh battery. Their Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and nano-SIM support. It is powered by 1.7 GHz Tru-octa core processor paired with 2 GB of RAM.

The Canvas Selfie feels light to hold and is a great device for one-handed usage. The right side has a dedicated camera button and the SIM card tray, whereas the left edge holds the volume rocker. The Micro-USB port sits on the bottom. The 3.5 mm jack and the power button are on the top of the phone.

The front camera and flash are placed right in the center above the display. The primary camera on the rear has a large golden ring around it and two LED-flash modules peeking from either side.

The Canvas Selfie has a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display, and it is one of the best displays we have ever seen on a Micromax smartphone. The screen is also pretty sharp as it’s not very big and has a resolution above.

The screen is also pretty sharp as it’s not very big and has a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. The only critique of the screen could be that it is slightly smaller than the modern average of 5-inches.

Micromax Canvas Selfie A255 has succeeded in providing a phone which can take great pictures – be it the front camera or the rear camera.

The user interface is based on Android 4.4 KitKat. While the UI is almost certain to delay a Lollipop update, there’s light at the end of the tunnel as Micromax recently started upgrading its Canvas phones to Lollipop, so the Canvas Selfie has a shot at getting the update sooner rather than later. The Canvas Selfie packs relatively solid hardware internally.

It has the MediaTek octa-core chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz, paired with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot.

Micromax Canvas Selfie sports a 4.7-inch HD (720x1280p) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against scratches.

The phone has a 4.7-inch 720p IPS LCD screen with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. This is one of the better displays we’ve seen on a Micromax phone – it is crisp, the colors are vibrant, viewing angles are good, and spotting pixels with the naked eye is nigh impossible.

There are 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space. The storage space can be expanded by up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

The phone has a 2,300 mAh battery providing it the juice to work. It has two cameras as well, and both can shoot 13-megapixel images.

Wireless connectivity is taken care of by Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0. This iOS-inspired skinning is a hit-or-miss depending on the number of apps and widgets that are lined up on the multiple home screens. Micromax Canvas Selfie sports decent hardware specifications including.

Micromax Canvas Selfie sports decent hardware specifications including a 1.7GHz MediaTek 6592 octa-core processor and 2 GB RAM. It comes with 16 GB of storage out of which 12.14 GB is available to the end-user.

The phone supports microSD cards of up to 32 GB but you won’t be able to use the second sim card slot of the phone should you choose to install one.

In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim capable smartphone, supports 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Call quality was good and the phone works well even in weak signal areas. The phone comes with GPS and A-GPS for navigation and maps, and it was easily able to lock a signal.

The autofocus of this camera works really well in well-lit environments and has no problem tracking a face, in near real-time, as it moves. Our test samples had warm colors and a great number of details with absolutely no noise.

The low-light performance is not so great, but the LED flash manages to take care of that by throwing bright artificial light.

The quality of the sound in calls was not too bad but the person on the other end complained of hearing crackling more than once. In our battery test, the phone lasted 7 hours and 31 minutes, which is average at best. Call quality was good and the phone works well even in weak signal areas.

The phone comes with GPS and A-GPS for navigation and maps, and it was easily able to lock a signal. We found that on average the phone lasted something between 15-17 hours on a single charge with medium to heavy usage.

This, according to us, is above average performance. The device is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery. On mixed usage, the device lasts a full working day easily.
