The Xolo Q1100 is packed with the latest version of Android – the Jelly Bean v4.3. Android Jelly-bean for higher performance along with features like optimized location and sensor capabilities. The Xolo smartphone is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM.
Now switch seamlessly between apps and access your world from your fingertips with XOLO Q1100. The Xolo Q1100 comes with a 5-inch FHD IPS display, the display has 294 PPI and supports up to 5 fingers. The rear 8MP camera can record full HD videos at 15fps and 720p at 30fps. Front camera is 2MP, with decent output. The video quality is good but in 1080p mode it took time auto focusing and in 720p the auto focus is quite erratic.
The Xolo Q1100 sports an 8 MP primary camera which comes with a BSI 2 sensor. The BSI 2 sensor lets you click clear and bright low-light images. The 8 MP primary camera also has autofocus capabilities and flash support. The Xolo Q1100 houses a long lasting 2000 mAh battery.
Out of 1GB of RAM, you get only 881 of usable RAM. About 525 MB of RAM is free when the phone is idle. Out of 8GB of internal storage you get 5.8 GB for user storage and apps. You can also move the apps in the phone memory to the SD card.
Xolo has made a number of intelligent choices with its latest model, the Q1100. Its design, features and specifications are all understated and well thought out. There are no outrageous features, such as a full-HD screen or octa-core processor, which seem to be trendy things to boast about right now. The Q1100 looks great, with a simple all-black body and unassuming profile. The plastic surrounding the front panel glass extends over the bottom edge like a curved lip, breaking up an otherwise ordinary rectangular shape.
Enjoy your favorite apps & games seamlessly with 1 GB RAM and entertain yourself with your favourite songs and videos with 8GB internal memory & up to 32 GB expandable memory. The front face is almost completely dark. With the screen off, you can just about make out the outlines of the three capacitive Android buttons below the screen. The power button on the right and volume rocker on the left are actually built into the shell, and come off with it.
The rear is also quite bare, apart fromshell, and come off with it. The rear is also quite bare, apart from a small speaker grille on the bottom, a silver embossed Xolo logo right in the middle, and the camera lens and flash near the top. The plastic is also a little creaky, and you we could hear it flex when picking up the phone or shifting our grip. Apart from that, we’re pretty impressed with the Q1100. It fits nicely in one hand, despite having a 5-inch screen.
The processor is supported by the instructions within the app aren’t very clear, and we couldn’t detect any difference between online and offline mode. We also found that we needed to get pretty close to text on a page, which meant we couldn’t always fit a full line or paragraph into each frame. There’s only a single control button in the camera interface, which brings up a menu with icons for HDR mode, the timer, and swapping between the front and rear camera.
The Xolo Q1100’s battery life was perhaps the biggest disappointment we faced. It lasted only 3 hours and 33 minutes in our video playback loop test, which does not bode well for performance in the real world. The SIM 1 slot takes 3G SIM and the SIM 2 slot takes 2G SIM.
The micro SD card slot accepts cards up to 32GB. It is easy to remove the plastic back cover, but it a bit hard to replace it, since it needs to be locked perfectly. The phone has two SIM card slots, a micro SD card slot and a 2000 mAh removable battery.
The phone packs a 2000 mAh battery, less than Q1000s lasts for a day with average use and less than a day with heavy use. Overall, the battery life is just average. It also has Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 1.0, that promises up to 40 percent faster charging so that it can charge the battery in approximately 2 hours.
The charging time is considerably better that some Xolo Q1100 phones. Battery will last for about 3 to 4 hours with heavy usage i.e. playing high-end games or when using heavy apps. The battery charges quickly well under 2 and a half hours.
